Description:
the boxer protocol was signed between the Qing dynasty and the 8 nation alliance (Austria-Hungary, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States). The protocol called for 333 million dollars be paid to the 8 nations and allow foreign countries to station troops in China. High-level officials who supported the boxers were also executed. Cixi was able to escape execution and stayed in power.
