24 mai 2016 - Johnny Depp explains Aussie apology, suggests Barnaby Joyce might be 'inbred with a tomato'

Description:

Johnny Depp is still making fun of himself and the video apology he was ordered to make by the Australian government for sneaking his dogs into the country.

While dropping by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday to promote his latest film, Alice Through the Looking Glass, a glib Depp talked the importance of the video.

“I realized the badness of my ways. So I was kind of repenting,” Depp said, trying not to smirk.

Kimmel said he loved the actual apology video because it was just so awkward. The late night host then proceeded to play the video, much to Depp’s chagrin.

The 42-second court-mandated video of Depp and his wife went viral not long after it was posted on YouTube in April.

Depp told Kimmel it took a couple of takes to get the “giggles out.” He also said he didn’t watch it before they sent it off because “I didn’t want to kill myself.”

Finishing up the conversation, Depp couldn’t help but take a shot at Barnaby Joyce, the Australian politician who spearheaded the trouble for the actor.

“He looks somehow inbred with a tomato,” Depp said of Joyce. “I’m just saying. It’s not a criticism. I was a little worried that he might explode.”

The apology wasn’t all the two men talked about.

Kimmel managed to work Donald Trump into the conversation, asking Depp if he’d heard from the presumptive GOP presidential candidate since Deep had impersonated him for a Funny or Die movie that poked fun at Trump’s best-seller, The Art of the Deal.

“He stopped calling me,” Depp said, laughing. “He did. He stopped just like that.”
