1 janv. 1800 - 1800 Invention: Battery
Description:
Alessandro Volta, an Italian physicist, invented the first battery called the voltaic pile which was composed of stacks of circular shaped copper and zinc which were separated by cloth soaked with salty water. A wire connects to either ends of the stack which processed a stable current. Each set of copper plate, zinc plate and salty cloth was symbolised as a cell and each cell produced 0.76 Volts. The term Volt was named after Alessandro Volta. It is the official term for measuring the electric difference between two terminals of conducting wire.
