1 janv. 1733 - 1733 Invention: Flying Shuttle

Description:

The flying shuttle was invented by John Kay in 1733 with the purpose of of speeding up the hand weaving process. Before this invention, a large wooden structure, the handweaving loom, was used and takes 1 to 2 weeks to make a scarf. This invention allowed users to create wider fabrics than the handweaving looms. It can also be attached to looms for automatic machine looms. However, this machine was questioned because hand weavers lost jobs because of how much time they took.
