14 févr. 1947 - UN Partition Plan

Description:

The majority called for the establishment of Jewish and Arab states—politically independent but united economically—with Jerusalem and its environs internationalized.

---->The Arab part, which would constitute some 45 percent of the Palestine territory,
would include the Western Galilee, the hill country of central Palestine with the exception of the Jerusalem enclave, and a coastal plain between Isdud and the Egyptian border.
----->The Jewish state, covering the other 55 percent of the territory, would encompass the Eastern Galilee, the coastal plain from the south of Acre until Isdud, and the whole Negev.

The minority position favored the establishment of an independent federal state after a three-year preparatory
stage under UN trusteeship.

------>The state would include two separate entities with local administrative powers, but a united central authority would be divided between Jews and Arabs. The boundaries of the suggested federated state were somewhat different from the majority proposal, giving most of the Negev and Jerusalem (except for the Jewish parts) to the Arabs.
