How was it influenced?: The Europeans needed the Native’s help in order to come out above their competitors, hunt and trap the beavers, and find new land with greater efficiency.

What influence did it have: Treaties were formed when beaver fur was in high demand in Europe. In many of these agreements, the Natives would give their expertise or land in exchange for manufactured items such as weaponry, beads, or alcohol. This led to tribes of Natives with guns dominating the ones without, causing increased violence, and to the addiction of many Natives to alcohol.
