30 déc. 1947 - a group of countries called the Arab
League attacked Israel. The Arab League
included Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi
Arabia, Syria, Transjordan (now Jordan),
and Yemen. This war caused Arabs to
flee from Israel to the regions of
Palestine called the Gaza Strip and the
West Bank. At the same time, Jewish
people fled Arab countries and relocated
to Israel, swelling its population.
