清水宏代表作，30年代松竹最特立独行的导演，他坚持在外景地实拍电影，采用非职业演员，大多是儿童来和明星演员合作。该片是一部轻松的公路片，是战前罕见的将来自殖民地朝鲜的移民工人即兴地收入镜头的影片。改编自川端康成短小说，是上原谦的演员处女作。
