Known for marrying a priest 20 years her senior, resulting in excommunication from the Catholic Church. She was a strong wife who worked right alongside her husband in all things. Even after her death, she continued to work for the poor in her community until she died in 1563. She was a writer and even helped her husband with his sermons. She was known for her hospitality, and defended Anabaptists to the Reformers. She wrote, served, and preached as a mature Christian widow.
