Description:
Hungarians revolted against Soviet forces and the State Protection Authority (the brutal secret police).
3,000 civilians were killed during the 3 weeks of battle. The uprising was deminished and the Soviets claimed victory.
It is known as "the first rip in the Cold War's Iron Curtain."
