Description:
This battle consisted of a clash between King Charles I (Royalist) and the Earl of Essex (Parliamentarian). The initial battle led to heavy losses by Essex, leading to his retreat to London, which was slowed by Charles continued attacks. The result was heavy causualties on both sides, eventually leading to a successful retreat by Essex into London, following the Royalists depleating all their ammo and resources.
