Amber Heard and husband Johnny Depp helped distribute hearing aids to hundreds in need on Thursday, Sept. 24, before he performed with his band, Hollywood Vampires, at the Rock in Rio music festival in Rio de Janeiro.In the video from Entertainment Tonight, the actress, 29, fights back tears while arm in arm with a recipient, crying as she’s overcome with happiness. Heard, who was there in partnership with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, was emotional as she watched the Black Mass actor, 52, help fit Brazilians with the devices.
Heard, wearing a tan lace ensemble, can be seen holding a little girl’s hand while Depp, casually dressed in a gray hat, black sunglasses, and blue button-down, puts the device in the girl’s ear.
“There’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing that moment where you’re testing the hearing aid and testing it… and that moment where they light up as they hear,” Heard said. “That moment is everything.”
She later told the Associated Press that the day was “moving, to say the least.”
Depp — who married Heard on Feb. 3, 2015 — echoed his wife’s sentiments, saying, “To be able to help these kids, help these people, is amazing.”
Depp’s all-star band, The Hollywood Vampires, which also features Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, announced their involvement with the foundation in August. The Starkey Hearing Foundation provides more than 100,000 hearing aids each year to those in need, according to its website.
Heard next stars in the upcoming film The Danish Girl alongside Eddie Redmayne.
