1 janv. 1590 - The Early Microscope
Description:
By Hans and Zacharias Janssen (a Dutch father and son team), the first compound microscope was created in 1590. The smallest object that the average human could see before the invention was around the width of a strand of hair. The invention allowed late 16th century scientists to magnify their specimens anywhere from 3 to 9 times, which helped them make several new discoveries about the "cell" and cell theory.
