The League of Nations came into existence on January 10th 1920. It took the initiative for the victorious allied powers at the end of world war 1 then was formally disbanded april 19th 1946. The concept of the League was based on the widespread, global outrage at the unparalleled devastation of the First World War and the current understanding of its causes.
It was used to promote international cooperation and achieve peace. The effect of the League marked a new era of multilateral cooperation. By joining the league, member states also renounced secret diplomacy and agreed to comply with the international law. Although the League of Nations was marked to be failed it still made the attempt to bring peace between the world.
