Description:

The Treaty of Versailles was an agreement that was signed by all countries involved in WWI. This took place in 1919 when they held a meeting to sign this agreement at the Palace of Versailles. This is the reason why it's called the Treaty of Versailles. The countries that negotiated this agreement were the U.S.A, Britain, and also France. Germany had to sign this agreement after they had to accept the blame for World War I. They would have to pay 132 billion dollars to the countries that were damaged such as France and Britain. Not only that but Britain also took 10% of Germany's resources and possessions. Then Germany's military had to also be reduced and they only had 100,000 men in the army. Though once it got close to 1920, this was where some of the terms of the treaty were reduced a tiny bit but the treaty still stood. This treaty did help the growth of fascism, especially in Italy, and also helped with the rise of the Nazi Party.
