Description:

The U.S. government put a lot of money towards the LEAA to stop crime, but it wasn't very effective initially. Scientific Police management did come of it, however, which is the application of social science techniques to the study of police administration for the purpose of increasing effectiveness, reducing the frequency of citizen complaints, and enhancing the use of available resources. The Police Foundation was also created, which sponsored studies during the past 30 years that have added to the growing body of scientific knowledge about policing.
