Rock n' roll was to many adults the "devil's music." Many parents wanted their teen children to not listen to this type of music but many rebelled and did so anyways. Many adults said that the teens had to control their emotions, but its was hard with music such as the ones Elvis Presley played talking about blacks and exuded sex.
