1 janv. 1358 - Jacquerie

Description:

Named after agricultural laborer Jacques Bonhomme, the Jacquerie was a peasant rebellion caused by the oppressive taxes, criminal banditry in the countryside, losses on the battlefield, and general misery. Peasants, joined with some artisans and small merchants, killed nobles and burned castles until the rebellion was forcibly suppressed.
