Description:

The American Revolution lacked a clear goal. The delegates of the Continental Congress continued to meet while there was still fighting. Some delegates did not want to completely break with England but to the others, independence as a republic was the only choice. Thomas Jefferson, along with some other, drafted and wrote the Declaration of independence. This document was one of the most revolutionary document as it proposed that the United States, a new nation, would be based on the belief that people have certain rights that nobody can take away.
