Description:
The Haymarket square riot was initially a peaceful protest to protest police brutality. The mayor of Chicago carter Harrison deemed the gathering to be peaceful as he was an observer of the gathering. After Harrison left a contingent of police arrived and demanded everyone to disperse and around that same time a bomb was thrown from the crowd and led to the police responding with random gunfire. seven police died and 60 others were injured and civilian casualities were four to eight while thirty to fourty were injured.
