2 janv. 1860 - Election of 1860
and
Crittenden Compromise
Description:
Election of 1860:
ARC: Causes a chain reaction of southern states to secede as they thought that Lincoln being elected meant that they were now under attack from the North. The north was happy with Lincoln's victory and the south was unhappy.
MIG: Linclon opposed the expansion of slave states, which would make it so slave ownders wouldn't be able to migrate west anymore.
Crittenden Compromise:
ARC: The north would be strongly opposed to this compromise, but the south would love it, and felt less "under attack".
MIG: The south would have accpeted not being able to migrate to any new territoties if it meant they got to keep their slaves.
