9 janv. 1849 - Cotton Production Boom

Description:

ARC: Many people believed the boom in production showed the importance of slavery in the economy. They wanted slavery to be preserved for the sake of the economy and used this boom as an example of why it should be kept.
MIG: Established planters will have less of a reason to move north, and more of a reason to expand west so they can grow their business. They were already doing good with cotton and making a lot of money, so expanding would be less of a risk.
