Description:
They had an unstable social structure. 90% of the population was enslaved, and nearly no one was happy. The goals of the revolution were to abolish slavery and gain equality. After the resistance they made a declaration of independence from France in 1804. They became the second independent republic in the Americas. They also took down the plantation system.
