21 janv. 1793 - Louis XVI is executed at the guillotine

Description:

Louis XVI was tried for "treason" and found guilty. After a short speech where he pardoned his executioners and declared himself innocent, he was beheaded by guillotine in the Place de la Révolution.
This led to the reign of terror as there was nobody stopping new leaders from tring to take over power.
