7 oct. 1763 - Proclamation of 1763
Description:
Tried to prevent the colonists from encroaching on Indian lands by prohibiting settlement west of the Appalachian watershed unless the government first purchased those lands by treaty. The Proclamation benefits merchants and Loyalists. It keeps much of the population east of the Appalachian Mountains, so demand for goods stays higher east of the Proclamation Line. It will also prevent a nasty frontier war, which could destabilize the regional economy and cause sales to plummet.
