1 janv. 1876 - Robert Koch:
the Germ Theory
Description:
The German scientist Robert Koch developed Pasteur's Germ Theory by linking specific diseases to the particular microbe that caused them. In 1876, he identified the bacteria that caused anthrax by injecting it into 20 generations of mice - he went on to discover the bacteria that caused septicaemia in 1878, tuberculosis in 1882, and cholera in 1883.
Koch used revolutionary scientific methods, such as: using agar jelly as a medium for breeding bacteria, using dyes to stain the bacteria so that they could be identified under a microscope, and employed the newly invented photography to record his findings.
