Johnny Cash was struggling immensely with his drug use for the better part of the 1960s. Towards the end of the 60s, he was able to curb the issue and made a live album to turn his career around. It was best selling album yet. He decided to record infront of Folsom Prison inmates in California. It's uniqueness made it iconic.
