Description:
The Soviet Union blocked the Western Allies' railway, road, and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Western control. They originally blamed the blockade on “public works” and “repairs” that had to be done. This pushed the Allies to drop resources to the inhabitants of Western Berlin by air.
