Soaring energy prices could lead to rail freight operators going out of business, warns Franck Tuffereau, General Delegate of the French Rail Association. In particular all those who buy their electricity from SNCF Réseau. Franck Tuffereau points out that the price set by SNCF Réseau, 45 euros in 2019, will rise to 450 euros next January 1. "The operators were put against the wall because they learned of this increase in September. Some, who have tried to change their electricity supplier, including EDF, have been refused on the grounds that they already have a supplier," continues the delegate general of Afra.
