1 avr. 424 - The Taming of Cornwall
Description:
Cornwall, long having resisted Roman Rule rises against the rule of King Lear, attempting to oust him. Lead by an Irishman from across the narrow straight, they attempt to fight back and reconquer Britain for the Celts.
With Britain still largely reeling from the less of their Roman rulers, King Lear invites more Saxons from across the sea to aid in this war, leading to far more Saxonification of the land as they settle and intermarry with the post-Roman peoples of the island.
The Cornish forces are defeated after a union of British sorcerors takes the fight to the scant few Irish Druids who accompany the Irishman across the sea to fight. Notably, Dubnovellaunus leads the charge and is noted for defeating the Archdruid of the invading force with 'naught but half a blade and a singed wand'. The Cornish lord Bryok is executed for his treason and the lands pass to his baby son Gwalather, later known as the 'Duke of Cornwall'.
