1 janv. 2013 - Together, DNA Worldwide and Eurofins Forsensic discover that identical twins do not have the exact same genetic makeup.
Description:
In this experiment, scientists applied ultra-deep, next generation sequencing and combined this with bioinformatics, sequencing the DNA from sperm samples of two twins and a blood sample of the child of one twin. In one twin and his son, they shared 5 mutations, but the uncle twin had none of these mutations. Because of this, scientists realized that the genome of identical twins isn't 100% the same, which meant DNA testing could indeed be used in forensic cases that contain twins.
