The Red Hot Chili Peppers added guitarist John Frusciante to the band before creating this album. RHCP's original guitarist passed away because of a drug overdose. Mothers Milk was produced by Michael Beinhorn, a producer that RHCP had already worked with. The album peaked at 52 on the billboard top 200 albums.
