Description:
The Equal Pay Act amended the Fair Standards of Labor Act.The law prohibits employers from paying men and women different wages for jobs that require the same skill, conditions, effort and responsibility.
It is part of the amended Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. The legislation would later require expansion in 1972.
