Description:

Result of discontent from Russian factory workers and peasants as well as an emerging nationalist sentiment among the empires minorities. Also resulted from the Bloody Sunday massacre. By the summer of 1905, strikes, uprisings, revolts, and mutinies were sweeping the country. A general strike in October forced Nicholas II to issue the October Manifesto.
