27 mars 1781 - Skirmish at Witherspoon's Ferry

Description:

Gen Francis Marion pursued Brtitish Col Welbore Boyle to Witherspoon's Ferry. The British crossed Lynches River burning the ferry. A skirmish ensue with forces facing each other on opposite banks of the river. Marion moved five miles up river to ford and then chased Doyle towards Camden. Marion's men caught Doyle's rear guard at Williow Grove.
