17 nov 1780 - Raid and capture of Tories Near Chester

Description:

Capt Cooper, Chester County Militia learned off a squad of Tories organizing to commit depredations in the neighborhood. The Patriots approched the log cabin where the Tories gathers and were fired upon. Capt Cooper unsuccessfully tried to burn the cabin but since the Tories had not fired since the initial volley, they were out of ammunition. Capt Cooper's militia used a log and rope battering ram to enter the cabin and captured all the Tories.
