28 oct. 1781 - Vince's Fort burned by British
Description:
Patriot militia Capt Tarleton Brown learned a large Tory force under Cols Baley Chaney and Hezekiah Williams were in route to Vince's Fort. Brown arrived to find Capt Vince sick in bed and due the the Tory force being superior in number the decision was made to abandon the fort. The Tories arrived one hour after their departure capturing a few stragglers and then burned the fort.Ajouté au bande de temps:
