Description:

Patroit Gen Lincoln ordered Col Malmady to build a fortification at Cainhoy on the north side of the Wando River. The fortification was located approximately 15 miles from Charles Town to secure the last open communication line with Charles Town. The fortication also served as supply point for the area.
