3 sept. 1783 - Killing of Loyalist named Courtney

Description:

After the war eneded, a group of Whigs banded together to hunt down several Tories still refusing to submit to the new South Carolina government. They found a Loyalist name Courtney at the home of another Tory, old Shoemake's house. Courtney tried to escape on horseback but was captured and shot in the field ajacent to the house.
