Description:
Following a period of decline, Sultan Mehmed II wanted to take Constantinople for himself. In 1453 the Ottomans led a major land and sea assault against Constantinople using cannons to break the city's walls. After a siege of almost two months, the Byzantine Empire fell, allowing Mehmed II to conquer Constantinople and transform it into an Ottoman paradise.
