The primary source of energy was manpower. Domestic animals like cows and donkeys, were vital in transporting and agriculture.

Horses did were not used for the economy but rather were used by the aristocracy and the military for riding and chariots. There were vehicles with light wheels.

Thermal energy was used in the production of mud bricks, cooking, baking, smelting, casting metal, glassmaking and pottery.

Fire was produced using charcoal as wood wasn't plentiful.

Wind energy was used to power the ships
