1 janv. 1962 - The Chicano Movement
Description:
In response to racial inequality despite being ensured equal citizenship after the Mexican-American war, Mexican Americans spawned the Chicano movement. The word Chicano was adopted as a form of racial pride and to distinguish themselves as a people. The movement gave birth to the political party La Raza Unida which fought for Mexican and Latin-American rights while supporting politicians that shared the same ideals.
