In 1986, a shuttle named the Challenger was launched, however, 73 seconds into the flight, a leak in a rocket booster ignited the main fuel tank, causing all seven of the crew members to be killed. Something striking about this case was that a civilian teacher, Christa McAuliffe, was riding on this ship. She was meant to see if she could teach from space, but she sadly never got to.
