The speech that Martin Luther King Jr. spoke was an extremely momentous event in the civil rights movement. It was performed on the steps of the Lincoln memorial, and it was seen as the one beacon of hope in the storm of depression for the slaves at the time. I will attach a segment of the speech that stood out to me and truly made the most impact.“I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be engulfed, every hill shall be exalted and every mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plains and the crooked places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”
