October 16th, 1962The Cuban Missile Crisis began after the Soviet Union establish nuclear silos in Cuba in which the United States threatened war. Luckily, the US and the USSR came to agreement and nuclear weapons were removed from Turkey and Cuba. This event is significant because is it the closest in all of the Cold War that the United States and Soviet Union came to nuclear war.
