Description:
July 5th, 1960 - November 25th, 1965After a constitutional impasse was introduced in the Congolese government which pit the President and Prime Minister against each other, the Congolese government stopped normal government function. Throughout the next few years, the country fragmented among different factions until the Transitional Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo took power. This event is significant because a large portion of the uranium used by the United States and Soviet Union were Congolese uranium.
