This was also known as the War To End All Wars. It was originated in Europe because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire were all fighting against Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, and the United States. More than 16 million people died from the war (including civilians). Countries like Austria and Hungary blamed the Serbian Government for the assassination but other countries like Russia were supporting Serbia.
