Leon Trotsky was a theorist and agitator, during the Russian Revolution. Trotsky was the leader of the Reds in the October Revolution in 1917. Later, from 1917 to 1924, he became a commissar of foreign affairs and a commissar of war in the Soviet Union. In January 1989, Trotsky was arrested and exiled to Siberia for four and a half years, for his “revolutionary activities.” In 1902 he escaped Siberia, and headed to London, where he joined a group of Russian Social-Democrats.
