SPIEGEL: You have worked in the past with the director Bernardo Bertolucci, who died in 2018, and the actor Johnny Depp, against whom in the course of the #MeToo debate, some older accusations were taken up again because one allegedly abused his power as a director and the other was allegedly violent. Would you want to work with them again today?
Green: Bernardo Bertolucci was a wonderful person, he helped me a lot and was almost like a father figure to me. If he was still alive, I would immediately shoot with him again. And Johnny Depp is one of the nicest actors I've ever worked with. He is a real gentleman that I would defend at any time. It seems like a nightmare to me that he may not be able to work anymore or hardly anymore. I find this extremely disturbing and unfair.
