26 avr. 1957 - April 26, 1957

Description:

Background-
Johnson Hinston, an African American, was arrested for verbally opposing police officers who were beating a black man. The officers then began to beat and arrest Hinston. Upon being brought to the station, Malcolm X approached the station, demanded to see the recently detained Hinston, and argued that he needed medical attention and should immediately be transported to a hospital. After much deliberation, Hinston was transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Conclusion-
While the police won the battle by arresting an unarmed black man and beating him ruthlessly, Malcolm X won the war through the assembly of a crowd of people who marched to the police station and secured the rights of Hinston and the application of medical care to his wounds.
